Posture Plays a Big Role in Wellness

Did you know posture isn’t just about the spine? The American Journal of Pain Management reports that posture can affect blood pressure, pulse rate, breathing, bowel functions, and even your hormonal system.

Poor posture is a contributing factor to many types of pain, discomfort, and diseases. Wellness is defined as the state of being in good health, which takes into account physical, emotional, and mental well-being. This is why posture also acts as a form of communication that reveals a person’s degree of confidence and self-esteem.

Wellness is more than being free from illness, it’s an active pursuit of becoming aware of and making choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life. Similarly, a healthy posture requires an active pursuit. For most of us, within seconds of sitting our posture deteriorates. This is why frequent cues to realign are a crucial step in correcting poor posture. We can help!
